I’ve been slowly but surely working my way through my “30 Before 30” list, don’t worry! There are a couple of things “in the works” as of right now! But I can’t blog about those until I actually do them, you know? I realized after this past weekend that I checked another one off of my list: #20 which is “Go to 3 Concerts”! I was so lucky to be able to go to 3 awesome concerts between July and October of this year (I also have one more to look forward to: Britney in Vegas baby! Oh yeah!) Here’s how it all went down:
1. Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z at Candlestick Park in San Francisco with my bestie–Renee Johnson–this past July. That’s right, we dragged 3 children and one baby-sitter to San Fran so that we could literally LOSE OUR FREAKING MINDS over how absolutely amazing these performers are! I mean, I have no words for how awesome it was. The concert was non-stop (no joke) and between the two of them, every song was off the charts amaze-balls. Renee and I screamed and jumped up and down and danced and hugged each other for 3 straight hours. Totes perf.
2. Willie Nelson with my now boyfriend (that’s right, BOYFRIEND!) Matt at the Hollywood Bowl. This was just about the best thing I’ve ever done. We had such an amazing time. Willie Nelson is pure Americana–he literally walked out onto the stage, plugged in his guitar, did not move one step from that spot on the stage for 2 hours, and then unplugged and walked off. Zero pomp and circumstance–just the sweet tunes of Willie. Ahhhh, it was perfect. It probably didn’t hurt that I was with a great guy and at a great venue (did I mention that I was with a GREAT guy?? :)) It was one of our first dates and I will never forget how fun and really special it was. Willie holds a special place in my heart now–and so does stacked parking–it’s so much more FUN if you’re on a date I promise!
3. Zac Brown Band at the Hollywood Bowl with my friends Erin, Justin, and Ashley. What a great concert! Even if you don’t “like country music”–and I know there’s a lot of you out there! You will not regret seeing ZBB live. Freaking awesome! They sound amazing live and Zac Brown is so lovable and cute! He has a great beard (coincidentally so does my BF 👍) and he’s kind of a badass. The Bowl is a great venue and I had so much fun! My friend got me these tickets for my birthday and we had been looking forward to the show for MONTHS! It was great!
Good times, with good people. Do yourself a favor–go to a concert, go have some fun! Don’t wait for a list to start doing stuff!
